Lenk

Probably the nicest valley in the entire Bernese Oberland

Highest in the Simmental, at the foot of the Wilstrübel massif, lies the beautiful town of Lenk at 1068 m. The expansive ski area of Adelboden-Lenk and the family-friendly, cosy Betelberg await you. Widespread and readily available hiking and cross-country skiing trails offer unbroken peace and relaxation.

In the summertime, incredible hikes to mountain passes, uplifting tours in the high alpine regions, alpine meadows in full bloom, crashing waterfalls, and crystal-clear mountain lakes are all on offer. Lenk is a paradise for families and nature lovers alike.
Where did “Lenk” get its name?
Lenk is composed of two German words that mean “long nook”, and that’s exactly the shape and function the town has at the top of the long, Simme River valley. Nestled up against the might of the Wilstrubel’s steep face, the locals simply state that they are “in the nook” (an der Lenk)!
